I'M BUDGETING OK! Preparing for Christmas!

So, as we are going to New York for Christmas/New Year, we are going to be very poor around Christmas time. Ofcourse, this means taking it out on our loved ones by not buying them presents but instead making them! :) and using the good ol' excuse of 'It means more if you've made it'. But DOESN'T it though :p

Cardies, cowls, bags, baby booties, blankets and stuffed toys! I got a busy couple of months ahead. I made one cowl yesterday and I'm onto a cardi today. Fingers crossed it will turn out ok, 'cause I've never made one before :s

Kesha Hood progress pics

Kesha Wolf Spirit Hood

So...

Kesha. Not really my cup of tea tbh but this was a request, and so far it's been pretty fun to make.

If you aren't sure what a Kesha Wolf Spirit Hood is have a look on her shop here.

Cool, and expensive :O

So, here is my plan:

Arms -
Inside black in garter, I'm gonna do this quite tight so it isn't too stretchy.
Outside - FLUFFY!!!!! Mottled grey.

Just gonna sew them together.

Gonna make the pockets on the inside unlike the original cause I think that makes more sense. Will do this by casting off all but first and last two stitches on the black piece and the cast on again so there is a hole and I'll sew the top up. I've also made a stash pocket by putting a couple of rows on scrap yarn and picking up later and knitting a pocket into the back.

I have no idea how I am going to make hood section other than I want it to be black on the inside and fluffy grey outside. Going to look for some inspiration on Rav. and see what I can do.

Fun Day

So...I had my first experience of selling my creations on a stall at the weekend at the Shiregreen Fun Day! It went ok. Apart from the rain and wind :( I managed to sell 20-odd things and have learned a lot about what I *should* be doing and how to display items. :) Booked on the Richmond Park Fun Day in July so hopefully I can put my new knowledge to practice then! Fingers crossed for a sunny day :D

Flowers

I am trying to knit flowers at the moment. I've tried a few cute I-cord ones, but I wanted to make something a bit more realistic...without wires. It's time consuming but I'm getting there.

The arrival of Mini Murray

Wahee! Mini Murray was born last week and is now known as Isobel (I call her Izzy!). She's right cute, and teenie tiny!! With Mum and I knitting like crazy during Leanne's pregnancy, she currently has more woollen items than she can possibly deal with.

Clanger, Brain Slug and Cupcake

I've been very busy this week!

I've made a clanger for my friends little girl, it's current;y naked!! :O How rudddddddddddeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! Am gonna get some felt tomorrow. Think i'll make mother clanger.

Also, finally finished the Adult Brain Slug Hat! Took about 3 weeks (along side other projects). I buggered it up at first and made it way too big! :( Teach me to not follow patterns...

And the cupcake hat. Requested by my friend Mel, then mum saw it so making another one now :) It's dead quick and easy, the bobbles are the most challenging thing and they're easy.

Must learn to stay focussed.....

This is gonna be a patch blanket made using 255 patches (yep, I am mental).

I like making blankets with patches cause I can just make patches whenever really, and don't have to focus entirely on one project all the time - which I hate to do, hence about a million patch blankets on the go :)

I am hoping to make the blanket look like this screenshot of the Space invaders game (but Green not white) using the Space Invaders Charts I have designed.

I have no idea when I will complete this blanket, since I started the 8-bit blanket and the other patch blankets years ago :s

Space Invaders Chart

Wahee Chart Time!!!

Space Invaders super versatile patchy thing!

Size of patch: approx. 4.5 X 4.5 inches

Suggested Needles: 3.25 mm

Suggested Yarn: Bonus DK by Hayfield - Black 965
Bonus DK by Hayfield – Emerald 916

You don’t need a lot of yarn for one pattern, providing you get the gauge right you should be fine with other yarns. These are just suggestions as they are the ones used to make the finished patch in the image.

Gauge: 32 stitches x 34 rows = 4.5 X 4.5 inches

C/O 32 stitches

Odd Rows - Purl
Even Rows - Knit

Slip the first stitch of every row.

Follow Chart.

Bind off P-wise on an even row.

I love sharing! WOO! But please give credit where credit's due and don't try to pass this off as or sell this(the pattern) as your own work! Ta muchly!
